Our world is made up of lows and highs, some days are good, some days are not too good. Like the formation of the earth, nothing in it is even and perfect. It is the diversity that makes life beautiful and yet uncomfortable; depending on where you find yourself, who you are or what you make of life, and very often by the support structures in the place you find yourself.
In this regard, people live through this life on any given day in one swing of life or the other, what makes life meaningful is the opportunity to either make life more bearable for someone or for you to enjoy the reprieves of life by someone else’s support. Often it is opportunity that defines whether one lives a meaningful and fulfilling life or not, again, it is how people handle the effects of the opportunities that they have in life to benefit others that make their lives meaningful.
Mooley Bi believes that until one gets to the realization that using your opportunities to support others, especially those in need, you are not living even though you are alive. Life is more meaningful when individual blessings and endowments are extended to impact the collective whole, this is how we define life. However, it is not everyone who is wired to turn their opportunities around for the benefit of others, sometimes this is due to one’s innate temperament, exposure in life, experiences, fear of failure and in some rare cases selfishness or simply an unwillingness to help.
Nonetheless, many others are willing to help even without the financial ability or resources. It is this willingness to help defenseless, deprived and demoralized people to leapfrog their predicaments, that informs our raison d’etre overall as an organization. Specifically, we are on a journey to identify and help dependents of breast cancer victims; succumbed or surviving. Most of these children lose hope as a result of the inability of the family structures to support their upbringing and livelihoods, because the resources are channeled to pay for treatment. The financial impact of radiotherapy, chemotherapy and other remedial measure intended to keep victims alive is enormous, the emotional torment is another treacherous discussion, hence the need to assist such children.
Mooley Bi Foundation is concerned with restoring hope to such vulnerable children by providing for their upbringing including feeding, clothing and keeping them in school. Together with our partners, it is our resolve to identify and restore hope to this category of children within especially deprived communities, with a long-term view of helping them grow into responsible and responsive citizens who translate the opportunities given the benefit of others in need.
